You are doing it, Jess! You are lighting a fire under Missourians who mistakenly believe that Democrats — and Democracy — have no takers in rural Missouri. Thank you for being the genuine article. You’re speaking to the people, and they are listening. Thank you!

That's a solid plan! Keep Republican money in its own state so it can't be siphoned into meddling with other states. Even if you don't win in your own state, you can shift the election in other states by denying them outside interference. That's brilliant in its simplicity!

Good thought. I live in a deep blue state and have been thinking "why send money to (any red state) to help a running Dem with no chance of winning..") I can' send much and I'd go broke if I resonded with much but if all of us sent $5 it would help shift the GOP to playing defense, a losing situatin since they have nothing in defense, only vicious lies as offense.

Great news from The "Show-Me" State! Living up to its motto: Salis Populi Suprema Lex Esto (Let the welfare of the people be the supreme law). Jess Piper and her Blue constituents are to be congratulated for fighting the good fight. I'm convinced that this coming election cycle, it will be women who save our democracy. Well Done!

On a previous comment, I had asked what we can do about the condition of your schools. Well, reading this today I got my answer. I joined Blue Missouri and pledged a monthly donation to help these brave candidates. I know Missouri is not on the list of target states for grassroots groups to flip to blue, but this state needs help. It's the right thing for me to do.

So proud of you and the work you and your colleagues are doing in Missouri! It is easy to feel discouraged and hopeless when faced with the huge odds against progress we see in so many red states. My dad always used to say, ‘never let the bastards keep you down.’ Keep working. Keep hoping.

I love this. Perhaps we can follow your inspirational lead in Iowa! We can’t expect change if we don’t stand up. Thanks for your courageous moves to save democracy!

Iowa has the infrastructure in place to get out of this situation faster than Missouri. I've been up a few times to speak and y'all are on your way. Solidarity!

Happy to support you and all women who take it upon themselves to bring about much needed and long overdue change. Don't like thinking this way, but far as I can see we men are not going to do it.

So the Republicans have won and are governing by default. And the money at their disposal is making it virtually impossible for possible opponents to even think of running - much too daunting! At the state level that should not be allowed. There should be some way to limit the amount of money spent by candidates on state elections. The whole thing has gotten out of hand.
