I love that Gov Walz’s daughter is called Hope. She’s the one who got him to change his stance on gun control after the Marjorie Stoneman Douglas school shooting in FL. He went from an A+ rating with the NRA to an F. He also donated all the $ the NRA had donated to his campaign to charity. This guys the real deal. A mensch.
A decent person working in elected office to help his constituents, most importantly, ordinary families. It was Republicans who refused to extend the child tax credit. They are greed centered.
I am so excited for the VP pick, Tim Walz. I was preparing for another pick because I thought, This would be a PERFECT team…so we probably won’t see it. But I am on Cloud Nine now! We’re finally going to get a team that thinks the way we do. If we give them a Blue Congress….watch everything change for the better! Tim Walz was once a big gun rights guy, then the school shootings happened, and he changed his position on gun rights. This is what a normal human being should do! He gave K-12 children FREE meals at school, he provided extra protections for Trans people who had to go to Minnesota for care. He supports abortion rights and many more progressive ideas. 💙🩵💙🩵💙
Wonderful! Also on the call in Chris Jones, who ran as a democrat against Sarah Sanders. He is THE REAL DEAL for sure. Arkansas would be a much better place right now if he had won. He is worth watching. A true grass roots, across the spectrum organizer.

I’m a long time fan of Tim Waltz and think he is the perfect fit for the ticket and the country, for all the reasons you beautifully elucidate and also because he models for us all how to keep joy part of the persuasive argument, how we become better people not just by doing better when we know better but by keeping in mind the humanity of those who do not agree with us. I am so excited for the country’s future for the first time in a very long time.
I remember President Biden’s remarks about giving teachers a raise in his SOTU !! Perfect time to carry it through on this Blue Joy and excitement we’re all a part of now. !! Run with it !!
