Our town is one of the poorest in the state, and yet we pay the highest property tax rate in the state.
Those Missouri farm folks may want to think about that as they consider dropping the income tax. Folks who are property-rich and income-poor may find themselves funding the state government.

I try to tell people here that and they just don't get it. All that happens is that the state raises property taxes. Classic shell game.
