I remember him running like a coward during the insurrection.

My dad joke at that time was “What do Taco Bell and January 6th have in common? They both gave Josh Hawley a case of the runs!”

In all seriousness I hope Hawley loses. He’s a terrible human being

When I looked at the photos of Josh Hawley in his new jeans and boots all I could think of was "you little pr*ck".

Exactly!💯

Josh Hawley is not a fraud. He has Missouri’s best interest in mind.

We are a better state because of him.

Like every other reichwing politician. No different. All coward, all frauds, all cheats and we'll all be reminded of this fact in November.

Blue tsunami...only way.

I agree. You can’t tell me that John Lindell doesn’t tell his congregation how to vote. Still manages to keep a tax exempt status.

Here’s hoping the massive Harris-Walz wave will cleanse Missouri, and the United States Senate, of the stain that is Josh Hawley.

Unfortunately, Missouri isn't the only red-ruled state we need to flush reichwing politicians from.

So true, Andrea, so true. Too many to list them all. However, in March, I posted an essay on my Substack where I named a few. The title is “The 2nd Worst Person on the Face of the Earth.” Here’s the link: https://thestormbynorm.substack.com/p/the-2nd-worst-person-on-the-face?r=1qaj9v

Thank you for taking a look at Missouri today. More about Josh Mrs. Josh Hawley helped bring the misoprostol case to the supreme court. She lost but she's not stopping. They are a rights stomping power couple. Missourians have the tiniest of chances to vote him out and it is super exciting.

Expand full comment

Oh and I know her name is Erin but as long as Missouri women don't have rights she can go by the traditional married name that her and Josh enjoy. He is a self proclaimed christian nationalist. That's enough to know we don't need him.

I knew exactly what you meant the first time- love it. 👍

Is it possible with the "Evangelicals for Harris" movement that we might finally be seeing a permission structure for evangelicals to call out frauds like Hawley and of course tRump?

Expand full comment

I would like to belive that it is *very* possible. This is such an extraordinary movement.

Also, I took the time last night to watch a replay of the "Republicans for Harris" call last night. I'm so glad I did.

I wish I could get every single person I know to encourage at least one Republican neighbor or friend, to watch it, too. It says so much about how people are feeling, and what they are going through, to admit that they've changed their minds.

To your point of " . . . we might finally see . . . " It is well past due that some rational Christians step forward and criticize the aberrations that have happened. It is the general attitude that the very subject of faith be the bitch of time-honored, complete deference, and this sanctimonious posturing has contributed greatly to the current invasion of contaminating political influence. Truly, the most successful, possibly the ONLY rectification can come from them, from inside. This is massively good news. This could cauterize the pus (MAGA fascist) that has infected the whole body of Christianity in USA

Expand full comment

"rational Christians", I'm sorry I have to laugh. ok, maybe not a complete oxymoron, but there seem to be so precious few of them on the far right. Any rational Christians have already called out the glaring hypocrisy of the far right's religiosity and undoubtedly are now labeled heretics or some shit.

Bob, I can tell you that those members in my church oppose Drumph, Vance, and the entire right-wing movement. We are appalled, outraged, and horrified that the fake christians are labeled as Christians.

Hopefully there will be enough never Trump Republicans, Evangelicals for Harris/Walz, undecided people, independents, Libertarians, people of color, workers, LGBTQ+ people, farmers, people who don’t want to see the continued corruption of our systems by billionaires and their monopolies over products (which is the real reason prices are so high, no competition or regulations), people who still believe in justice, honesty, honor, kindness, altruism, having each others back, younger generations that are not so easily conned and realize that we live in a symbiotic living system and must respect the rules of nature and science to make a real change, The past 4 decades have dramatically changed the world for the worse, Now is the time to see the truth and change it to take care of al LIFE

I lived in Missouri for over 80 years. I recall that as soon as Hawley was elected attorney general, he immediately began paving his path to a Senate seat. At that time we had a smart hard-working, senator, CLAIRE McCASKILL who did her work for MISSOURI.

While Hawley marched around MISSOURI touting his elite education, little was accomplished in his office. I’m wondering what he is doing now for the state of Missouri. He appears just to be grandstanding,; oh yeah, and telling the world how to be a man!

Actions speak, louder than words.

As far as I know, he has done nothing for MO except stay away & silent. I live in MO. I wish he'd just go away & STFU.

Also I'm voting for Lucas Kunce to take his seat.

I met Lucas at a private event. He’s the real deal. I think he can win.

My knowledge of Claire Mccaskill came late, after she’d lost her seat to this miscreant. I’ve watched her and listened carefully to her opinions and observations on Morning Joe. She’s so impressive…. Intelligent, reasonable, grounded, unafraid (to speak truth to power). What a loss to Missouri citizens. I pray Lucas Kunce will prevail for the benefit of Missouri and the country. BTW, I live in Hawaii but have contributed to Lucas’ campaign.

Claire is only person I have canvassed for because I have followed her since her days in Kansas City on the Mike Murphy radio show.

Expand full comment

Only boys who live in the shadows of real manhood behave like Hawley, Vance and the like. They never felt like they “measured up” so they take the low road of hiding behind religion, old school authoritarian, mean spirited beliefs, pretending they’re on the moral high road when all they ever wanted was to be liked but just aren’t. So they jockey for positions of power to abuse power. But down deep in the quiet of the night, where we all go, they are still small and don’t measure up.

I’m not from Missouri but was in a state of disbelief when he beat McCaskill. Please Missouri don’t let this ambitious fraudster win again!

I loved Claire sooo much - every time I see her interviewed I feel homesick! 🥹 But Lucas is an excellent choice to have. I’ve requested my absentee ballot! 🥳

I agree. I live in Illinois, but was shocked when McCaskill lost to such a low charactered person. Hopefully Missourians who like to be shown have seen and will correct their mistake,

And: anyone who said that the alt right didn’t know what was going on in that attempted insurrection, and how bloodthirsty some people had been groomed to become: Josh Hawley’s sprint down that hallway says otherwise.

How can anyone not look at pictures of Josh Hawley cosplaying "rural folk" and see him for the fraud he is? I suspect they can but tribalism rears its head in the voting booth and they dutifully vote for the R candidate like the sheep they are. If only more decent Republicans would start calling out the terrible ones and give permission to the tribe, we might see some movement. I'm encouraged with more Republicans endorsing the Harris/Walz ticket but I don't know if that will continue down the ballot.

Also, please send thoughts of victory to Colin Allred in Texas so we can get rid of Ted Cruz along with Hawley.

Expand full comment

Misty, Agh! Cruz! I hope never to see that scumbag’s face again! What do you think about Colin Allred’s chances? I think TX is getting ready to tilt Blue!

Expand full comment

I think Colin has a chance. IMO, Beto actually beat Cruz in 2018. Cruz "won" by around 200,000 votes which is an incredibly thin margin of victory in Texas. When you factor in the voting machine mix-ups in which some Dems voting a straight ticket had their Beto vote changed to Cruz (yes, this happened; Google it), it's likely Beto won. Cruz cheated because NO ONE likes him. If Beto hadn't had presidential aspirations, he might have contested the outcome. He should have and, quite frankly, I haven't forgiven him for not doing it.

Colin has momentum but I suspect the Cruz camp will cheat again. The Abbott administration is already doing what they can to suppress votes in Dem areas. What they're doing in Houston is criminal.

Expand full comment

Got a link to the vote changing story, please? I refuse to use Google, and can't find a thing on Duckduckgo. I live in southeast Texas and never heard a whisper about Beto votes being changed to Cruz... even from my local Dem Club.

https://www.vice.com/en/article/texas-voting-machines-have-been-a-known-problem-for-a-decade/

The voting machines used in Texas are problematic. Given that the Republicans have been in charge for 30 years, I distrust their integrity. Dan Patrick once said in a TV interview that he knew 7 ways Democrats cheated. Given that everything Republicans say is projection, that was ominous.

Texass Republicans can (and should) be accused of a lot of things, but having integrity is definitely NOT one of them! Thanks for the link!
