Thank you so much for pointing all this out! I don't think many people realize just how much damage has been the GOP's fault here in MO. I intend to bring up these facts next time my R family and friends start ragging on the Dems

You just described TX as well. Hotwheelz plays the field w national attention to Biden, for the issues the GOP has created here. It’s infuriating.

The GOP has a corp memo that is followed by all. The Dems have needed a new coms team forever. It’s like we’re in a hippie compound comparatively speaking. Then those who can’t decide look at the right and say ‘they seem more orderly, sounds good’. The reality now is Dems are the only sensible sane ppl on the block. Sadly the 2 party system is another flaw the plutocracy controls and that is what both sides should be fighting, together. Evil Geniuses is an excellent book everyone should read. 💙

Power corrupts. Power allows hypocrisy to prosper and disproportionate allocation of state dollars. Repub's used to always campaign on local autonomy or home rule. Now, in your state and here in Iowa, those in power penalize certain local jurisdictions, by restricting their authority. Tax breaks are unevenly distributed to benefit the wealthy. I do ask you and your readers to also ask Demo leaders to look in the mirror, learn from other states that reversed purple to all red, and change their messaging, messengers and strategy. I believe there is some responsibility on state and federal D leaders for their action or inaction. One issue demonstrates what does work-- look at how some organizing efforts have succeed in red states, like Kansas, Montana and Ohio on abortion.

Why do I feel this is to be reality across the country should TFG wins in November. It scares the crap out of me

Ditto to so much of this for South Carolina! It’s comical to hear Republicans running for state office talking about fixing persistent problems. They have held the majority in the General Assembly since 1998 and the governorship since 2002. So who is responsible for the past 22-26 years of policy and what are they truly willing to do differently to serve the citizens of the state?!?

Thank you for this troubling reminder.

Didn’t Mitch McConnell once say that if the senate passed voting rights legislation, that republicans would never win an election? Isn’t that what you’re facing in Missouri—absolute power? Ultimately, I suppose, it’s at the heart of our problems. If we can’t find a way to work together, everyone loses—starting with the least powerful: children, homeless people, pregnant women, and anyone who is NOT IN ABSOLUTE POWER.

Keep up the resistance.
