I live on the East Coast and, sadly, am one of those people that paints rural America with that broad brush of being so "red" that efforts such as your are a waste of time. Therefore it is very reassuring to see that there are people like you that are still fighting the fight. Also reassuring are the many victories that abortion-access has achieved at the ballot box when people get to decide on their own rights. One thing that you mentioned, that continues to amaze me, is the level of support for freedom-of-choice from very religious women. In my (admittedly small) bubble, the near-universal position is that while they would never have an abortion themselves, they don't want someone else mandating that decision for every woman.
I'm in the same category...East Coast, Democrat. I'm now a subscriber because I welcome her insights into rural America. It blows me away to hear about Bible groups supporting choice.
Thanks so much Jess for all your hard work for our common core causes. Women’s rights have always been subverted, you are keeping alive and fanning this flame 🔥 of change that will light our way back to common sense government. Until we can douse the flame of religious bigotry, it will be uphill, but we are not afraid⚔️
I'm not religious but let me say bless you, Jess! Here in Florida we're in a similar situation. Fortunately, we have a dedicated grass roots movement that is knocking on doors, holding town hall meetings, working petitions, etc. to get the word out that we've not forgotten the little guy/gal
Put me on the list of what can I do to help? Thank you for talking about all of us here in Missouri horrified about what’s happening and ready to do whatever it takes to get our rights back!!
I work with Blue Missouri to fund down-ballot nominees in Missouri. You can get on the email list to learn more by texting "Piper" to 33777. Thank you, friend!
It's been a looong time since I left Missouri, but since I still have kin there, I keep an eye on the doin's back there (Dad was from Ludlow). It's heartening to see there's still some sanity left in the sea of crazy! Keep up the good work, Jess!
Thank goodness For You there in Missouri. Women are worthy of respect and each one of our bodies ARE OUR BODIES. Not a judge’s, not a politician’s, not a rapist’s. Ours and unless the fellas want us determining when the get circumcised or castrated… respect us.
I came across your post on TikTok tonight and it made my night. I grew up in Sumner (close to Chillicothe) and although I now live outside of San Francisco, I have a lot of family in that area who are very religious and likely republican (we don’t talk politics). I am so happy to hear of the work you are doing in Missouri and that people are coming out of the woodwork to support the cause.

How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time. How do you get abortion on the ballot? One voter at a time. What outstanding work!
The elephant lines was one of my dad's favorites!
Stuck in Sam's district and appreciate what you are doing.
Hope to see you in Cameron March 9 to sign petition.
Keep on rolling along.
I'll be there!
You are sooo important and I am truly impressed at your dedication and your spirit. Thank you from the NE, i.e. New England!
I appreciate you!
Wow!! Great job with this and good luck. Hope this does get on the ballot in Missouri. 👍
