I was born and raised in the South and around guns and the men who owned them. My entire inheritance from my dad was guns. He was a gun collector in his later years and it had a lot to do with his political beliefs.
Daddy died a MAGA.
I inherited his guns, but I am an advocate for gun safety. I started a Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America chapter in my town knowing that many gun owners believe that guns are too accessible in America. That the right to bear arms is actually at risk because of gun extremists, not because of the folks who want smart gun legislation.
It’s easier to buy a gun in Missouri than it is to buy cold medicine.
I was once refused a goldfish because my fish tank was too small, but there is no requirement to ask about gun storage when you purchase a gun.
Missouri in a crazy nutshell.
I believe in background checks and red flag laws and locking up guns and storing ammunition separate from guns. I find balance in having the tools I need on a farm and also keeping my kids and grandkids safe.
I know the number one killer of American kids is guns. I know that more children die in Missouri to gun violence than they do from car accidents or drownings or accidental overdoses. I will always advocate for gun sense and I actively work to help get candidates elected who will write regulations to keep loaded guns out of the hands of domestic violence offenders and keep guns off our streets.
In D.C. advocating for gun sense, 2019.
But, throughout my life, I’ve been privy to a scenario that has been decades in the making — the 2A alpha men and their rise in society and in the church and in our communities.
The gun waving pastors and congregants are the ones who really stick in my craw. The “real” men. Jesus and John Wayne.
It makes me sick.
Let me tell you something you probably know: It’s all a con. It’s a lie. These men are not what they seem and they never were.
They are pathetic cowards scared of their own shadow. I’ve seen them in the grocery store and at Menards and out for a walk with their wives. They have a gun on their hip and a certain swagger thinking they are cowing anyone they meet, but these “alpha men” actually piss down their leg the second they are faced with the tyranny they claim to be collecting guns to fight.
They are bootlicking, milquetoast wimps. Cowards. Weak in the face of the very thing they were supposed to fight against. Limp in an authoritarian takeover. Pushovers in the fight against those who plan to harm their communities and families.
I attended a rally in St. Joseph, MO years ago — it was put on for the families of gun violence. A survivors rally.
I was toward the back of the outdoor event and I turned around to see two men in Hawaiian shirts with guns holstered on their hips. They showed up to a rally for victims of gun violence. They stood in the back while family members of victims relayed their stories of their children dying and their husbands killed due to guns.
These wildly-clothed men smirked as person after person took the mic to talk of a dead loved one.
I walked closer to them to make sure they were armed, and once I confirmed it, I found the Police Chief who was there to speak on gun violence and made him aware.
It is completely legal to open carry a gun in Missouri without any training or any permit. They weren’t doing anything unlawful unless they started shooting. I knew this and the Police Chief did too.
The Police Chief made his way to the back and stood by them while striking up a conversation. They were well within their rights to intimidate victims of gun violence, but his presence next to them made the crowd feel a little better.
Those men are part of the Boogaloo Movement. They are gun extremists and anti-government, far-right white supremacists who are heavily armed and show up to rallies and protests in their Hawaiian shirts.
They showed up that day to harass a rally filled with women and children and elderly folks mourning their family and friends.
Real tough guys.
The thing is, they are posers. All of them. The Boogaloos and the guy at Menards.
They are anti-government until the shit hits the fan.
They want a civil war until the government looks the old Confederacy. They are anti-police until the cops arrest leftists at protests. They want to dismantle government agencies until ICE starts rounding up people who don’t look white enough.
They aren’t tough guys. They kiss the ring and the ass. Submissive from day one. They wear their orange god’s name on their shirts and hats and flags. I guarantee you they would offer up their wives and daughters to Trump.
They worship another man.
These guys aren’t strongmen — they serve a wanna-be strongman. They project. They are what they say progressive men are.
Cucks. Betas. Servile.
Let me leave you with a story of a Missouri State Senator turned Congressman — his name is Eric Burlison. He is infamous for a law he passed in Missouri that negated all federal gun laws and barred Missouri law enforcement from working with federal agents on gun crimes committed in Missouri.
The Second Amendment Preservation Act.
SAPA was the law of the land in Missouri for almost two years before the Missouri Supreme Court threw it out. It should have been a non-starter from the beginning. A state can’t nullify a federal law.
Missouri did it anyway with Burlison’s bill.
Representative Burlison likes to stir the pot. He constantly posts overly-partisan rhetoric and recently posted a meme stating “86 the ATF.” Eliminate the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Agency. Burlison has been aggressive in his lawmaking and speech about not complying with the ATF and consistently speaks about the overreach of the agency on guns and the rights of citizens.
Rep Burlison seems very concerned about the rights of Americans. Almost all of his bills are aimed at government overreach.
So, I called his office last week to ask about Representative Burlison’s thoughts on the Trump regime’s use of masked ICE agents abusing the Constitution and arresting and deporting and kidnapping citizens and non-citizens alike.
Surely, if anyone would take a hard stance against government agents abusing their power, it would be Rep Burlison. Can you imagine the staffer’s response to my question?
“The Representative believes in securing the border. The Representative has been clear on his views on illegals.”
There it is. His tenure as a lawmaker may seem like the tough guy out to help the rest of us in securing our rights. Nah, Eric is just a white supremacist. He cares about the rights of some people.
As I have stated about this brand of man, Burlison is a fraud. An armed Representative who claims to stand against tyranny and overreach, but who turns out to be a complicit lapdog. Useless as tits on a boar hog.
Another pseudo-tough guy.
Reader, you may think I have used some ugly words to describe these fake macho men, but I will tell you that I held back.
I was raised around these men. I grew up with these men. I know these men.
They are frauds.

Well said as always. Living in the Midwest it is the same. The larger the pickup truck, the smaller the ball sack.
Damn girl, you got my attention and held it past the last word. I always appreciate your writing but will encourage you to turn the spigot FULL ON more often, I could feel the power of your disgust and I'll do my best to share that power through the comings weekend and beyond!
