“A society that lives by organized greed or by systemic terrorism … will always tend to be violent because it is in a state of persistent disorder and moral confusion. The first principle of valid political action in such a society then becomes non-cooperation with its disorder, its injustices, and more particularly with its deep commitment to untruth." - Gandhi

Resist more. Now.

There’s no way to ignore this murder. It was a public execution by a masked man who had too many weapons, and too much RAGE!

He murdered a weaponless woman, who as a mother was observing injustice.

Her name was Renee Good.

Yes, Chris, we are all we have right now. The government we have right now is not helping the people. The government we have is harming the people, by breaking down all the laws and ignoring what's good for the country. It's obvious this administration doesn't care about the country or they wouldn't be f****** around with Venezuela. It's all just a ruse, a distraction, one after another, to keep from releasing all the Epstein files. If anybody believes Trump, the well-known CON, is going to turn around and help the Venezuelan people, LOL, WELL, THEY CAN GO POUND SAND. FUCKIN IDIOTS.

Renee Good and her family had just moved to Minneapolis from the Waldo neighborhood in Kansas City - about three miles from where my family and I live. She was not only a sister, she was literally our neighbor. I'm so filled with hate and fury that I believe my head will explode.

Susie S's avatar

I can tell you, Chris, what will help you. If you are so filled with hate and fury put it to good work. Start a group or join one. One that gathers in the public eye at least once a week with signs protesting this administration. IN OTHER WORDS, DO SOMETHING!!!

Expand full comment
Susie S's avatar

And, Chris, here's what's uplifting about that. When we started back in April, protesting in front of the federal post office in our town, we were first met with middle fingers and thumbs down and nasty yells. Now it's mostly 98% positive thumbs-up, raised fists in solidarity, thanking us. But we need more to join us, all the time......that's what it's going to take.

Thanks for the advice, Susie S. But I've been to every protest at Mill Creek here in KC since the disastrous last presidential election (in which I was a poll worker, by the way) and I still go occasionally to the local Tesla Takedown. I drove down to Jefferson City to protest the proposed Republican redistricting. I gathered signatures to make abortions legal again in our state and then again to try to prevent the Rep. majority legislature from undoing it after it passed. And all the protest signs I've made and carried, all the times I've raised my fist at honking cars, all the petitions I've signed and had signed, and all the phone calls and contributions I've made have not blunted my current feelings about the murder of Renee Good in the least. I'll be going back to Mill Creek this Saturday to honor Renee and the other victims of ICE. Maybe that will do it but, frankly, I doubt it. Anyway, I'm sincerely glad it's worked for you. Let's all keep it up.

Good on you, Susie! We possibly traded smiles in Jeff City and we may do so again. I haven't yet swapped my sign for a pitchfork -- although, for the first time in my long life, I can see that as a possibility. Until then, I'll keep in mind that we all need to keep a firm hold on the moral high ground. So far at least - our line is holding.

Expand full comment
Susie S's avatar

I have to disagree, Chris. We are NOT HOLDING THE LINE. The Dumpster has traversed WAY OVER THE LINE. ICE thugs have been given the go-ahead by Dump, JD, Noem, et.al. and now they are shooting people in the streets, in different views of the videos; what they show is murder. And then they all lie about it. They've taken it WAY PAST "Due Process" for a long time now and it's getting worse. ICE thugs see it as a CLEAR ROUTE/FREE REIN to kill our citizens.

I wrote a fairly extensive reply to Susie S. listing my current activist credentials. I don't see it here but, to summarize, don't worry. Woah! How weird! "Does the Devil pray?" - I was just thinking that last night!

If the prayers of all the "good" people can move things - doesn't that apply also to the "prayers" of "bad" people?

I'm just reading "The Stand" by Stephen King. and that thought is a part of the story - the eternal fight between good and evil.

Evil sure seems to have the upper hand at the moment.

I'm not a religious or scripture-y person, but I find comfort in James 2:19 " Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble." Emphasis on the "tremble." We may tremble every day at their works - but THEY must tremble even more at the thought of the retribution which will surely come.

I really think it's about time we started making some serious moves to make the devils who currently run the government tremble - AND fall!

Awww, Jess. But we DID know Renee Nicole Good. She was our thoughtful neighbor who watched our kids when we had to go to the DMV (god forbid). She was the kind soul who noticed when she hadn't seen us for a while and asked if we were OK? She was the sweet mom who showed unconditional love to her kids and community. She was the woman literally caught in the disastrous crossfire between the Right's wrong-headed regime and the rest of us.

Denmark says that they'll shoot first and ask questions later if Trump tries.

Greenland in "summer" is like Hoth on a bad day. Greenland in winter... don't ask.

Malcolm Nance is a retired naval intelligence officer who has walked the ground there. He has a Substack with a great podcast about the Greenland mess. If they try, it's not going to be a walkover. Denmark has reinforced. Norway and Sweden are getting into it, too.

We are in the worst world crisis since the Cuban Missile Crisis and it's Trump's damned fault. World wars have started over less. Russia and China are laughing their asses off right now.
