An election night event

This is a short post to invite you to calm any election night jitters you may have…come and join like-minded folks from across the country to watch the returns and listen to experts and Democratic strategists walk you through the night.

I am the Executive Director of Blue Missouri and I will be hosting a Zoom tonight with David Pepper who directs our sister organization, Blue Ohio, and Michele Hornish, who directs Every State Blue.

We have some great guests including Robert Hubbell and Jess Craven, who you know and love from Substack.

Matt Hildreth, the National Rural Outreach Director for the Harris Campaign will be on as well as Scott Kleeb, a rancher and rural outreach director and former Nebraska Congressional candidate. They will offer a rural perspective.

We will also be hosting Fred Wellman from the Meidas Touch Network. Fred served in the U.S. Army including four combat tours. He’s the former ED of the Lincoln Project and the current National Chairman of Forgotten Democrats.

We will have Dr. Amy Acton, a lifelong Ohioan and former State Health Department Director and Jared Kamrass of Ohio with Technicolor Political, a messaging and ad-making firm advising Democratic candidates. He will bring us Ohio-specific data throughout the night.

Chris Jones, of the Dirt Road Democrat PAC, and who also ran against Sarah Huckabee Sanders in the Gubernatorial race in 2022 will be on hand to offer insight.

I would love to meet you all this evening. We can help calm the election jitters together. In the meantime, I have texted my family and my kids and my kid’s friends to remind them to vote today.

Unclench your jaw. Relax your shoulders. Breathe deeply. Go outside if you are able.

I love to turn on the TV and listen to Monty Don gardening in the background. Obama also narrates a docuseries called Our Great National Parks and his voice is very soothing for some background noise. It relaxes me every time.

We can do this. We will do this.
